Well-BEing Wednesday: Water your Goodness

Water is so versatile, yet simple and is often overlooked for its numerous benefits. Today, I want to reintroduce you to this wonderfully, straightforward liquid.

Hi! This is water, a transparent liquid that is powerful on many levels. It can cleanse the body, erode concrete and even take out a city. This substance covers much of the earth and makes up a majority of the human body, Water is needed in all bodily functions like digestion, assimilation, elimination, respiration, maintaining temperature (homeostasis), brain functionality and the strength of all bodily structures. Yet, knowing the need for water, so many fail to adequately take in enough. We then experience common ailments such as headaches, fatigue, joint pain, and much more, as our bodies are crying out in thirst. BUT instead of reaching for a glass of spring or alkaline water, we grab a soda or coffee or juice, each lacking the simple goodness found in water.

Benefits of Drinking Water (per Healthline):

  1. Energy Levels and Brain Function – Mild dehydration (fluid loss of 1-3%) can impair energy levels and mood, and lead to major reductions in memory and brain performance.

2. May Help to Prevent and Treat Headaches – Drinking water can sometimes help relieve headache symptoms, especially in people who are dehydrated.

3. May Help Relieve Constipation – Drinking plenty of water can help prevent and relieve constipation, especially in people who generally do not drink enough water, it keeps things moving.

4. Help With Weight Loss – Water can increase satiety and boost your metabolic rate. Studies have shown that drinking water may increase metabolism.

Lastly, I want to share that water conducts energy and is very transformable and changing depending on what the intention is. Listening to a waterfall, sitting on the beach, or observing a flowing stream of water can be soothing to the mind and refreshing to the soul, especially when the intent is to experience peace. Please know, the benefits of water are not limited to what it can do on a physical level but it has the ability to provide emotional and spiritual support. GOD can and does use all of creation to bless us – that is why listening to rain can be soothing and waves crashing can gently rock someone to sleep.

Take a long, hot bath and then after, rest in how you feel. Drink a glass of water and FEEL it flowing through you strengthening you as only something GOD created can.
