Remember to Breathe

I never knew how often I was holding my breath until I began to understand the importance of breathing. Yes, our bodies are wired to breathe without conscious effort on our part; however, sometimes we unknowingly stop the flow of our breath. Ex: while we are experiencing something uncomfortable, when upset or stressed we may find ourselves tensing up and holding our breath. By doing this we are hindering the natural flow of energy, decreasing respiratory function and stopping the flow of the essence of LIFE – air.

The next time you get frustrated or find yourself in a stressful situation, pay attention to your breath and remember to breathe. Notice when you are exerting energy if you are holding your breath or breathing through the action. Breathing gives us more strength than we realize. It is important to breathe. Remember to breathe.

When you wake in the morning take a few moments, before you reach for your phone — breathe. Take intentional breaths throughout the day. This is important because our breath connects mind, body and spirit – so remember to breathe.
