We are such busy people. Everything is go, go, go or move, move, move. There never seems to be enough time for anything and our minds are always thinking about the next BIG thing on our list. People are more anxious and living hyped on caffeine… and downers to support the uppers to reverse the downers (the cycle). Life seems like a whirlwind, fastly blowing us through existence.
BUT, what if we PAUSED.
Literally, hit the pause button.
Just for 60 seconds. Not long enough to miss the world turning but long enough to take a freakin’ moment. Long enough to experience the beauty that is around us, while tapping into the stillness within. Long enough to be reminded that it is okay to stop, if only for a moment. Long enough to regroup and catch our second wind. The world will continue to turn, the to-do-list will wait for our reappearance, work won’t fall apart — and if it does the issue was bigger than us and hey, that’s okay.
So press the pause button, right now. Set a timer on your phone for 60 seconds (make the alarm a gentle one so it does not scare you back into reality). Close your eyes and inhale, then exhale. Feel the air enter your nostrils and exit your nostrils. Breathe in deeply and breathe out completely. With each inhale, take in goodness and with your exhalation, let go of what no longer serves you. Continue to breathe slowly… when your alarm sounds, silence it and give thanks for the opportunity and space to PAUSE and breathe.
Now go take on the world with renewed strength.
